# DalalOS DalalOS is the Indian stock market data layer for AI-powered stock research. It is a hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) server connecting AI assistants and agents — such as Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT-style tools — to Indian (NSE/BSE) stock-market data over streamable HTTP. DalalOS exposes 59 current, non-deprecated MCP capabilities covering end-of-day quotes and prices, financials and ratios, company profiles and reports, peer comparison, shareholding and pledge data, filings, corporate actions and events, screening, indices, market context, watchlists and sector overviews across thousands of NSE/BSE companies. Market figures are read from cache; filing tools can queue processing and use on-demand quota. 2 explicit account-scoped actions only add or remove symbols from the caller's DalalOS watchlist. The public reference also retains 1 deprecated compatibility alias and the operational ping helper, for 61 documented protocol-visible names in total. Data comes from official and public sources: NSE archives (end-of-day), BSE official interfaces and SEBI-mandated BSE-XBRL filings, plus named official public-sector sources for supported macro/reference domains. DalalOS returns sourced facts and mechanical measures rather than investment verdicts — it is a research and analysis layer, not investment advice. ## Connect MCP endpoint: https://mcp.dalalos.in/mcp Choose OAuth when your client supports a browser sign-in connector. This is the recommended path for ChatGPT and Cursor. Use an API key only when a client cannot complete OAuth or explicitly requires a Bearer header. Never share or commit an API key. ### ChatGPT (published plugin, easiest) Open https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6aded6de90f081918717da5227322e16, select Install plugin, and sign in to DalalOS. The plugin is open to any ChatGPT account in India. Outside India, use the manual setup below. ### ChatGPT web, manual setup (verified) 1. Open Plugins in ChatGPT and select Create Plugin. 2. Choose Server URL and enter https://mcp.dalalos.in/mcp. 3. Select OAuth, create the plugin, and complete the DalalOS sign-in window. 4. Start a new ordinary chat, select the plugin, and ask a research question. ChatGPT does not use an mcpServers JSON file for this flow. Test with: “Use DalalOS to fetch the latest available quote and company profile for Reliance Industries. Tell me which DalalOS tools you called, the source of the data, and its freshness date. Do not use web search.” A successful response names the tools called and returns source and freshness metadata. ### OAuth-capable MCP clients ```json { "mcpServers": { "dalal-os": { "url": "https://mcp.dalalos.in/mcp" } } } ``` The JSON above is a generic example only. Use each client's documented configuration schema; it is not the ChatGPT setup format. ### API-key MCP clients (fallback) ```json { "mcpServers": { "dalal-os": { "url": "https://mcp.dalalos.in/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer " } } } } ``` Claude Code one-liner (OAuth-capable clients may complete authorization after registration): ```bash claude mcp add --transport http dalal-os https://mcp.dalalos.in/mcp ``` REST API example (create an API key first): ```bash curl -sS \ -H "Authorization: Bearer " \ "https://mcp.dalalos.in/v1/stocks/RELIANCE/profile" ``` After connecting, ask the client for a quote, financial statement, peer comparison or screen. Ask it to include the source and freshness timestamp. Prices are end-of-day, and market-data responses are sourced facts or mechanically-computed measures — never a buy/sell call, target price or investment recommendation. ## Key pages - https://dalalos.in/ — Home: what DalalOS is and how to connect it to AI tools. - https://dalalos.in/connect — Human-readable connection guide for OAuth, API-key MCP and REST paths. - https://dalalos.in/tools — Complete documented MCP reference, including current capabilities, compatibility aliases and operational ping. - https://dalalos.in/llms-full.txt — The same overview plus the complete MCP tool reference (parameters, outputs, example prompts) as one plain-text file. - https://dalalos.in/screener — Screen NSE/BSE stocks on raw data and mechanically-computed ratios. - https://dalalos.in/heatmap — Sector-grouped market heatmap of NSE/BSE index constituents. - https://dalalos.in/calendar — Indian stock market events, including results, IPOs and corporate actions. - https://dalalos.in/fii-dii — Daily net Foreign and Domestic Institutional Investor flow. - https://dalalos.in/fii-dii/monthly — Month-by-month FII and DII buy, sell and net totals summed from the daily NSE series. - https://dalalos.in/fii-dii/full-form — FII, DII and FPI full forms and how net flow is calculated. - https://dalalos.in/fii-dii/fpi-sector-investment — NSDL fortnightly sector-wise FPI net investment and assets under custody. - https://dalalos.in/fno-ban-list — NSE F&O securities-in-ban list for the latest published date. - https://dalalos.in/ipos — Upcoming, open and recently listed IPO tracker. - https://dalalos.in/discover — NSE/BSE corporate disclosures grouped into thematic buckets. - https://dalalos.in/docs/indian-stock-market-mcp-server — MCP server overview and data coverage. - https://dalalos.in/docs/data-sources-and-freshness — Canonical source, provenance, cache-age and staleness reference. - https://dalalos.in/docs/claude — How to connect DalalOS to Claude. - https://dalalos.in/docs/chatgpt — How to add the DalalOS plugin to ChatGPT, and how to add it by hand. - https://dalalos.in/docs/cursor-and-other-ai-tools — How to connect Cursor and other MCP clients, with OAuth or an API key. - https://dalalos.in/docs/rest-api — REST API authentication, envelope and read-only endpoint reference. - https://dalalos.in/docs/screener — How the stock screener's query language works: ratio names, operators, units, missing values. - https://dalalos.in/docs/screener/ratios — Every screener ratio with its definition, unit, Screener.in name and DalalOS id. - https://dalalos.in/use-cases/claude-indian-stock-research — Using Claude with DalalOS. - https://dalalos.in/use-cases/chatgpt-indian-stock-analysis — Using ChatGPT-style agents with DalalOS. - https://dalalos.in/use-cases/ai-agent-for-indian-stock-research — Building an AI agent for Indian stock research. - https://dalalos.in/use-cases/compare-indian-stocks-with-ai — Comparing Indian stocks with AI. - https://dalalos.in/use-cases/order-book-order-inflow-data-mcp — Which MCP gives order book and order inflow data for Indian listed companies: the tool, a live LT example and how limited the coverage is (published by DalalOS; watchlist actions save symbols and filing tools can queue processing. - Not affiliated with NSE, BSE, SEBI, Anthropic/Claude, OpenAI/ChatGPT, Cursor or another vendor. ## Contact - Email: hello@dalalos.in
