Sourced from NSDL's Fortnightly Sector-wise FPI Investment data, which covers every FPI across both depositories (NSDL and CDSL). Figures are as NSDL published them: net_* is net investment over the fortnight, auc_* is assets under custody at period_end, in INR crore and USD million (NSDL converts at the RBI reference rate at period end). Sectors are NSDL's own labels, not securities.sector: reports up to 2022-04-15 use NSDL's legacy sector list and reports from 2022-04-30 use BSE's Common Industry Classification, so `taxonomy` changes there and sectors are not comparable across the break. 'Grand Total' (row_kind 'total') is NSDL's own all-sector figure; never add it to the sector rows.

FAQ
Common questions
- What does this FPI sector data show?
- For each fortnight NSDL publishes the net investment foreign portfolio investors made in each sector and the value of their assets under custody at the end of the period, in Rs crore. This page shows the equity column.
- How is this different from the daily FII DII data?
- The daily FII DII data is market-wide, published every session by NSE, and covers the cash segment as a whole. This data is published fortnightly by NSDL and splits FPI activity by sector. They are different sources and cover different periods.
- What is net investment versus assets under custody?
- Net investment is the amount FPIs invested minus the amount they withdrew in the sector over the fortnight. Assets under custody (AUC) is the value of FPI holdings in the sector at the close of the period, so it moves with prices as well as with flows.
- Why does a figure show n/a?
- A missing figure means NSDL did not publish it. It is never shown as zero.
- Are sectors comparable across all periods?
- Not across NSDL's 2022 change of sector list. Reports up to 15 April 2022 use NSDL's legacy list and reports from 30 April 2022 use BSE's Common Industry Classification. This page covers recent fortnights on the newer list.
- Is FPI sector flow a buy or sell signal?
- No. It is a record of disclosed investment in past periods. DalalOS publishes raw disclosed data and mechanically-computed figures only, never verdicts, target prices or recommendations.
