Living document — not legal advice
What DalalOS is
DalalOS is a hosted MCP (Model Context Protocol) server and REST API that gives AI assistants and other clients read-only access to Indian (NSE/BSE) stock-market data: quotes, financial statements, mechanically-computed valuation ratios, shareholding, corporate actions, screening and related market data. It does not place trades, hold funds or securities, or provide brokerage services of any kind.
Not investment advice — the research-only line
Every response from DalalOS — whether an MCP tool call or a REST API call — consists of raw disclosed data and mechanically-computed ratios only. We deliberately do not generate or return verdict labels ("undervalued", "overvalued"), target prices, buy/sell/hold calls, rankings framed as recommendations, or anything else that reads as investment advice.
- DalalOS is not a research report under the SEBI (Research Analysts) Regulations, 2014, and DalalOS is not a SEBI-registered Research Analyst or Investment Adviser.
- Nothing on DalalOS, and no output of the MCP server or API — including anything an AI assistant generates by summarizing or interpreting that output — constitutes investment, financial, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell, or hold any security.
- You are solely responsible for verifying any figure before relying on it, for doing your own research, and for any investment decision you make. Markets carry risk, including the risk of loss of principal. Consult a qualified, registered professional before making investment decisions.
Data sources and attribution
Market and corporate data made available through DalalOS is sourced from NSE, BSE and other official regulatory filings and disclosures. We do not assert a formal data redistribution license or exclusive arrangement with any exchange — data is presented as a research and informational convenience, attributed to its official source wherever practical. Underlying exchange data remains the property of the respective exchange or publishing authority; DalalOS claims no ownership over it. Data may be delayed, incomplete, or occasionally incorrect due to upstream reporting, parsing, or timing — see the disclaimer below.
Accounts and API keys
- You create an account by signing in via WorkOS AuthKit. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information tied to your account and for all activity under your account and API keys.
- API keys (
isk_live_...) are confidential credentials — treat them like a password. If a key is compromised, revoke it from your dashboard and create a new one immediately. - DalalOS is currently offered on a free tier with a monthly credit quota, a per-minute rate limit, and a concurrency cap (see /pricing for current limits). Paid plans may be introduced in the future; if so, these Terms and the pricing page will be updated accordingly before any charge applies.
Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to attempt to:
- Exceed or circumvent your plan's rate limits, credit quota, or concurrency cap.
- Scrape, crawl, or make automated bulk requests against DalalOS outside normal MCP-client or API use — DalalOS is itself built on top of official sources so that you don't have to scrape the exchanges directly; scraping DalalOS to circumvent its own limits defeats that purpose.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute DalalOS's API responses at scale as a standalone data feed or competing product.
- Reverse-engineer, probe, or interfere with DalalOS's infrastructure, or attempt to bypass authentication or rate-limiting.
- Use DalalOS, or represent DalalOS's output, as investment advice, a research report, or a regulated financial recommendation — see "Not investment advice" above.
- Use DalalOS for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account or API key access, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you've violated these Terms — in particular the acceptable-use section above — or if required to do so by law. You may stop using DalalOS at any time; to close your account and request deletion of your data, see the Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
DalalOS's branding, website, and software are owned by DalalOS (or its licensors) and are not transferred to you by using the service. Underlying market data belongs to the respective exchange or regulatory source, as described above. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use DalalOS's API/MCP output for your own research and product-building purposes.
Disclaimer of warranties
DalalOS is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, any warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that data will be error-free, uninterrupted, or reflect the most current information available from the underlying source, and we expressly disclaim any liability for delays, gaps, or inaccuracies in upstream exchange or regulatory data.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DalalOS and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, or data, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use)DalalOS — including, specifically, any investment or trading decision made using data or ratios obtained from DalalOS. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Changes to these Terms
We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever these Terms change, and for material changes we'll make reasonable efforts to give more prominent notice (for example, on the dashboard). Continued use of DalalOS after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. This is a general placeholder pending formal legal review, not a negotiated jurisdiction/venue clause — it may be refined (for example, with a specific court or arbitration forum) once reviewed by counsel.

FAQ
Common questions
Is DalalOS investment advice?
No. DalalOS returns raw disclosed figures and mechanically-computed ratios only — never a verdict, a target price, or a buy/sell/hold call. It is not a research report under the SEBI (Research Analysts) Regulations, and DalalOS is not a SEBI-registered Research Analyst or Investment Adviser. Always do your own research and, where appropriate, consult a qualified, registered professional.
Where does the data come from?
Market and corporate data is sourced from NSE, BSE and other official regulatory filings and disclosures. We don't claim a formal data-redistribution license from any exchange — see "Data sources and attribution" below.
What happens if I exceed the rate limit or abuse the free tier?
Requests beyond your plan's rate limit or monthly credit quota are rejected. Sustained abuse — for example, trying to circumvent rate limits, scraping the API outside normal MCP/REST use, or reselling raw responses at scale — can lead to API-key revocation or account suspension.
Can these Terms change?
Yes. We'll update the "Last updated" date whenever they change; continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
