USE CASE · ORDER BOOK DATA

Which MCP gives order book and order inflow data for Indian listed companies?

Disclosure: DalalOS publishes this page and runs the MCP server it describes. We checked every figure below against the live server on 27 October 2026.

DalalOS has a tool for this: get_company_operating_metrics. It returns the order book and order inflow a company disclosed in its BSE filings, each with an as-of date and the sentence it came from. It covers a limited set of companies today. The coverage section says how limited.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Ask for order_book or order_inflow. Each figure comes with the as-of date, filing, page and source quote.
  • Coverage is partial. As of 27 October 2026 it spans fewer than 30 companies for order book and 5 for order inflow. Anything else returns not_yet_indexed.
  • Where a figure is not indexed, you can still read the company’s filings through the same server.

What does the order book tool return?

get_company_operating_metrics returns cached operating figures for one company over time: order book, order inflow, capacity and similar business measures. Pass an NSE symbol, ISIN or BSE code. You can ask for only the latest figure, a date range, or a list of metrics.

  • As reported. The value is what the company stated, with the unit it used (crore, billion) and the same amount in rupees.
  • Dated. as_of_date is the date the figure applies to. disclosed_at is when the company filed it.
  • Sourced. The filing, the page and the verbatim quote come back with the number.
  • Honest about gaps. A coverage block says per metric whether a figure was found, is not disclosed, or is not yet indexed.

How many companies have order book data?

Fewer than 30 companies had an order-book observation on 27 October 2026, and 5 had an order-inflow observation. We do not have a total for how many listed companies disclose an order book. Here is a spot check of well-known order-book companies, run through the live tool that day.

Why the quote travels with the number

Companies word these measures loosely. A phrase such as “order intake” or “order backlog” does not always mean the same thing. DalalOS returns the sentence so you or your AI can check which measure it is before using it.

What if the company is not indexed?

Read the filings. The same server lists a company’s recent disclosures, extracts facts from a filing with the page and quote, and searches its earlier filings.

  • get_stock_events lists recent BSE filings, such as order wins, with a news_id for each.
  • get_filing_extract returns the facts in one filing. A request for a filing not yet read can queue processing and use a small daily allowance.
  • search_company_disclosures searches the company’s earlier filings page by page. For Mazagon Dock it returns the order-book table on page 19 of the 23 September 2026 investor presentation.
  • get_event_context shows earlier filings behind an order event.

When a filing states no contract value, you get no value. L&T’s Dhaka Metro filing of 27 October 2026 gives a size label and a footnote listing size ranges. The extract returns the ranges and names the customer and scope. It does not turn a label into a number.

How do I ask for it?

EXAMPLE PROMPTS

  • What was Larsen & Toubro’s order book on 30 September 2026, and what did it say for Q2 FY27 order inflow? Show the source page and quote.
  • For Mazagon Dock, give the latest disclosed order book and the as-of date. If order inflow is not indexed, say so.
  • List L&T’s order-win filings from the last two weeks and read the latest one. Quote any contract value, or say none is stated.
  • Check whether BHEL’s order book is available. If not, find where BHEL’s filings state it.

How we checked

On 27 October 2026 we called get_company_operating_metrics, get_stock_events, get_filing_extract and search_company_disclosures on the live server for the companies named above. The “fewer than 30” and “5” figures are counts of stored observations on that date. Figures change as filings are read. This is research data, not investment advice, and DalalOS does not rank or rate stocks. Found an error? Email hello@dalalos.in.

FAQ

Common questions

Which MCP gives order book and order inflow data for Indian listed companies?
DalalOS does, for the companies it has indexed. Its get_company_operating_metrics tool returns the order book and order inflow a company disclosed in a BSE filing, with the as-of date, the filing, the page and the quote. DalalOS publishes this page, so check the coverage section below before you rely on it.
How many companies does it cover?
As of 27 October 2026 the index held order-book observations for fewer than 30 companies and order-inflow observations for 5. That is a small part of the market, and it is growing as filings are read. A company that is not indexed returns not_yet_indexed, not a guess.
What does not_yet_indexed mean?
The tool has no stored observation for that company and has not confirmed that the company discloses nothing. It does not mean the company has no order book. Use the filing tools described on this page to read the company’s own filings.
Does it work out a current order book from a new order?
No. The tool never infers a current order book from a new order announcement. It returns only figures a company stated, each tied to a date and a source quote.
What if a filing gives an order size band and no value?
Then you get the band and no value. For example, L&T’s 27 October 2026 filing on the Dhaka Metro orders is headed “Major*” and lists size ranges in a footnote. The extract returns those ranges as facts and does not pick a contract value.
Is an order book the same as order inflow?
No. Order inflow is the value of orders won in a period, such as Q2 FY27. The order book is the value still to be executed on a date. A phrase like “year-to-date order intake” describes inflow, not an order book. Read the source quote returned with each figure to check which one you have.
Is this investment advice?
No. DalalOS returns what companies filed. It gives no buy or sell calls, target prices or ratings. Nothing on this page is investment advice.
