KEY TAKEAWAYS
- MOSPI CPI and WPI (monthly), IIP (monthly), GDP (annual) and PPAC’s Indian Basket crude price all come through
get_macro_indicators. - FBIL rupee reference rates come through
get_fx_reference_rates. The latest rate date on 29 October 2026 was 21 October, so that feed was eight days behind. - IIP was also behind: the latest period in the index was August 2026, and the dataset is flagged invalid.
- No RBI policy rate, bulletin, reserves or balance-of-payments tool exists. FBIL is the nearest source and it is a separate entity from the RBI.
What macro data does the DalalOS MCP return?
get_macro_indicators takes a required dataset of cpi, wpi, iip, gdp or crude_basket. Any other value is rejected. You can bound the window with from_period and to_period, filter by series name, and cap rows with limit. Rows come newest first. It returns published values with no commentary.
| Dataset | Source | Frequency | Latest period on 29 Oct 2026 | Data quality flag |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| cpi | MOSPI | Monthly | September 2026 | valid |
| wpi | MOSPI | Monthly | September 2026 | valid |
| iip | MOSPI | Monthly | August 2026 | invalid (latest expected period missing) |
| gdp | MOSPI | Annual | 2025-26 (First Advance Estimates) | valid |
| crude_basket | PPAC | Monthly | October 2026 | valid |

How current is the macro data?
On 29 October 2026 the freshness report from get_data_freshness (generated 28 October 2026, 19:33 UTC) showed CPI, WPI, GDP and the crude basket as healthy and the IIP dataset as invalid. The failing check is macro.latest_expected_period.iip. The latest IIP period in the index was August 2026. The IIP response itself carries stale: true. The rows are what MOSPI published for that period. The index does not hold a newer one.
Does DalalOS have FBIL or RBI exchange rate data?
get_fx_reference_rates returns the daily INR reference rates published by FBIL, the benchmark administrator, for six pairs: USD, GBP, EUR, JPY, AED and IDR against INR. Each row has the rate date, the pair, the unit base, the rate and the source. The rate is INR per unit base of the foreign currency. The unit base is 1 for USD, GBP, EUR and AED, 100 for JPY and 10,000 for IDR, as FBIL publishes it.
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Rows returned | 15 |
| Earliest row | 29 Sep 2026, 96.0321 |
| Latest row | 21 Oct 2026, 94.7145 |
| Source field | fbil_historical |
| Quality status | invalid |
| Failing check | fx.latest_expected_date.usd_inr |
| Stale flag | true |
The rate feed was eight days behind
get_data_freshness for the same reason. FBIL’s public feed serves a rolling window of about two days, so the table fills forward one refresh at a time. A wide window can return fewer rows than the dates would suggest. Do not use this tool for a rate on a date it does not return. Is there RBI repo rate, bulletin or reserves data?
No. We searched the documented tool list and the server capability list on 29 October 2026 and found no tool for the RBI policy or repo rate, RBI bulletin releases, foreign exchange reserves or the balance of payments. FBIL is the nearest source DalalOS has, and it covers rupee reference rates only. FBIL is a separate entity from the RBI. If your assistant needs policy rates, it needs another data source.
The company macro tool agrees. For ONGC its coverage block listed an interest_rates factor with status indicator_source_unavailable, and no tool name behind it.
What does the company macro exposure tool return?
get_company_macro_exposures looks up whether a company has a reviewed, sourced link to a macro factor, and returns context signals only when that link and a complete official data window both exist. Each factor gets a coverage status. It never says a macro move caused or will cause an earnings or price outcome. Missing evidence comes back as explicit coverage, not as a guess.
For ONGC on 29 October 2026 it returned no exposures and no signals. Of 11 factors, crude oil and USD/INR had an available data source but no reviewed company link (missing_exposure_evidence). The other nine, including interest rates, gold, silver, steel, aluminium, government capex, real estate, power sector capex and renewable policy and tenders, had no indicator source (indicator_source_unavailable). The mapping status was missing_reviewed_mapping, with the note that this does not mean the company has no macro exposure.

We checked one company. We do not know how many companies have a reviewed mapping today, so treat an empty result as missing coverage and not as a finding.

How we checked
On 29 October 2026 we called get_macro_indicators for cpi, wpi, iip, gdp and crude_basket, get_fx_reference_rates for USD/INR, get_data_freshness and get_company_macro_exposures for ONGC on the live server. We also searched the tool list for any RBI-related tool. Figures change as MOSPI, PPAC and FBIL publish. This is research data, not investment advice, and DalalOS does not rank or rate stocks. FAQ
Common questions
- Which MCP server has Indian macro data from MOSPI and RBI for AI assistants?
- DalalOS has the MOSPI part and a rupee rate feed, and no RBI policy data. Its get_macro_indicators tool returns MOSPI CPI, WPI, IIP and GDP and the PPAC Indian Basket crude price. Its get_fx_reference_rates tool returns FBIL reference rates for the rupee. DalalOS has no tool for the RBI repo rate, RBI bulletin data, foreign exchange reserves or the balance of payments. DalalOS publishes this page and checked it against the live server on 29 October 2026.
- Does DalalOS have RBI repo rate or policy rate data?
- No. We searched the tool list on 29 October 2026 and found no tool for policy rates, the RBI bulletin, reserves or the balance of payments. The company macro exposure tool also reports its interest-rate factor as indicator_source_unavailable.
- What is FBIL, and is it the RBI?
- FBIL is the benchmark administrator that publishes the INR reference rates against the US dollar, pound, euro, yen and dirham. It is a separate entity from the RBI. DalalOS reads FBIL’s published rates. It does not read RBI data.
- How current is the exchange rate data?
- Stale on 29 October 2026. The latest USD/INR reference rate in the index is dated 21 October 2026, eight days earlier. get_data_freshness marks all six currency pairs as invalid for that reason, and the quality block on the rate response says the same.
- How current is IIP?
- The latest IIP period in the index on 29 October 2026 was August 2026. get_data_freshness lists the IIP dataset as invalid, and the quality block on the response lists the failing check macro.latest_expected_period.iip. The values returned are the ones MOSPI published for that period.
- Does it say how a macro move affects a company?
- No. get_company_macro_exposures returns reviewed company-to-macro links and coverage gaps. It never states that a macro move caused or will cause an earnings or price outcome. DalalOS returns data only, and nothing on this page is investment advice.
